An Orientalist Bust in Terracotta
An earthy white casting signed E. Stellmacher, Co. marque: R.St.K. (Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel) impressed mark: Austria, No 1525
This is a good example of the works produced by Amphora, Turn - Teplitz recreating the Orientalist style originally favoured by Alfred Stellmacher
Fine facial details and elaborate folds to the gown make for a very decorative and appealing subject (a pair of busts (male & female) including one identical to this bust was sold at auction in London by Christies on 19th October 1995)
