Goldscheider Bust of a Young Lady
An attractive terracotta sculpture in the subtle colours typical of Goldscheider.
Beautifully detailed facial features and a very intricate head covering making this a charming example of the works produced in Austria. This authentic Goldscheider bust - marked 1264 model no. 23 production no. and 14 craftsman no. - bares the Goldscheider applied plaque (as used in 1888) and is marked Reproduction Reservee was included in the Goldscheider Trade Catalogue published in 1900 and is pictured in 'Goldscheider a Catalogue of Selected Models' by Ora Pinhas, page 65. At nearly 120 years old she is in very good condition with one small non-detracting loss to the leading edge of base.
